A refrigerant is a working fluid used in the refrigeration cycle of air conditioning systems and heat pumps where in most cases they undergo a repeated phase transition from a liquid to a gas and back again. Refrigerants are heavily regulated due to their toxicity, flammability and the contribution of CFC and HCFC refrigerants to ozone depletion and that of HFC refrigerants to climate change.

Other refrigerants include ammonia, sulfur dioxide, carbon dioxide and non-halogenated hydrocarbons such as methane. The ideal refrigerant has good thermodynamic properties, is unreactive chemically, and safe. The desired thermodynamic properties are a 🙋boiling point somewhat below the target temperature, a high heat of vaporization, a moderate density in liquid form, a relatively high density in gaseous form, and a high critical temperature.

The document attached will helps to calculate the emission of the refrigerant emission from the sheet which can be used to calculate the scope 1 emission of the refrigerant which used for easy calculation and life cycle emission of the refrigerant. By the calculations the scope 1 the GHG can be calculated, and organization or individual can be able to plan to reduce their impact
